Best snotsucker on the market
Ive had the Nosefrida for nearly a year now and Im still in love with it! My then-6-month-old really struggled with congestion during the cold and flu season last year. After trying the bulb syringe humidifiers vaporizers etc. for my daughters congestion relief I turned to the Nosefrida -- mildly grossed out by how it might work. I had no reason to be wary. Not only does it work great but theres no risk of mom or dad inhaling snot. Its so nice to be able to control the suction. My daughter resisted having her nose messed with but now that she knows what its for (and I made a game out it) shes pretty agreeable to me using the Nosefrida on her. very easy to use and easy to clean
I just love this product. Since my baby turned 2 months I regularly clean his nose everyday by putting few drops of saline and sucking the boogie out of his nose. Recently he caught a nasty cold and Im so thankful that I had this product. In one or two suction almost all the mucus comes out of his nose. He was cranky when he had the cold and did not co-operate but after minutes of fighting I pulled all the mucus out his nose. I have also bought the graco battery aspirator but I would prefer this as I could have more suction. I also read from one another review that I can cut the cord to make it short and to have the suction more effective. Im gonna try that. What a relief!
Our kid has quite a set of lungs. With a fussy stomach she tends to cry quite a bit in addition to the regular hungry-wet-sleepy crying. Throw in trying to clean out her nose and the crying is overwhelming. We are trying a prescription for the projectile spitting-up and NOSE FRIDA for booger time. This is FABULOUS! A friend at work mentioned it to me and I was skeptical -- anything sucking snot out of your little nose cant be fun right? Our baby HATES the bulb -- but who wouldnt?! The first time we used the Nose Frida she looked skeptical too like she was debating whether to just go ahead and cry proactively before we even tried it. After a few uses now she actually grins when she sees it! For particularly tough snots it can take a while since you are sucking over and over. But she doesnt get fussy anymore and sometimes she even giggles (this may be because of the funny face I must make while using this). best snot sucker ever!!
Even the hospital-issue aspirator pales in comparison. Like most other people commented my 6 mo-old HATES this operation! He screams and flails and cries and hes seriously otherwise the best-humored child ever. He even yells just when I wipe his nose. Why is this? But anyway once you get the sucker positioned the right way and if you are ready for the inhale then you are golden in seconds. Ive never seen so much gooey yellow-green stuff come out of a nose! and you really dont need the extra filters -- nothing seems to come all the way up the tube anyway. :2010-09-18 17:58:15
