Adult Remote Substitute?
I bought this for my 1 year old daughter because she kept stealing our remote unfortunately it just doesnt hold her attention very long. I think it tricked her for a short period of time but it just doesnt seem to be something she plays with. The sounds are cute and fun but not sure how much use we will get out of it. :2010-09-18 17:09:45

Great toy! Very durable.
My son has had this toy for well over a year now. Its been slobbered on by my dog (a messy boxer) dropped thrown kicked and basically abused as only a toddler can do to a toy and yet it still goes on strong. The battery case must be well insulated because this toy sure is tough. Some of the stickers are worse for the wear but my DS doesnt seem to care. He loves the Sesame Street characters and it DOES keep him away from Daddys remote which is NOT durable as we found out the hard way. I recommend this toy highly! :2010-09-18 17:09:45

My babies prefer the real remote to this one
I thought it was adorable and looked realistic enough that the DirecTV remote might lose some of its allure but no such luck. They have very little interest in this toy though I have tried often to engage them. If I offer this and the real remote after a quick glance each chooses the real one and exercises his/her magic power over the television. Youd think at only 10 months old (adjusted age) I could still fool em. No such luck. :2010-09-18 17:09:45

Very Good Not as Enticing as the Real Thing - But Worth the Price!!
This play remote is good for teaching the babies certain things such as how to hold a remote and use thumbs to press on the more difficult keys. My twins quickly learned to handle it the way adults and big kids handle remotes. The keys that their little fingers werent strong enough to press gave them the opportunity to learn to press with their thumbs. They look like teenagers texting.

Ok they get bored with the remote within a minute. It would have been better if I only used this toy as a distractor when out with the babies in public. Thats when something like this that makes lots of sound effects would be ideal for critical immediate situations. Again one minute is at the top threshold length of time a baby will be occupied with this toy in my experience with my two babies.

For the price this toy is worthwhile no doubt. It teaches dexterity with their hands and youll be surprised how quickly they handle this "remote control" like a big kid. :2010-09-18 17:09:45
